Over the many years in business we have been involved in or responsible for a multitude of salvage operations.
These projects have been varied and diverse ranging from the return of an historical anchor weighing 2 tons to waters off Fraser Island for Queensland Museums, to the total demolition and removal of a 30 metre ex-Navy Patrol boat from the Port of Bundaberg for Maritime Safety Queensland.
Each individual job no matter how big or small comes with its own challenges. Whether it’s working with a team or as project managers, all situations require high levels of co-ordination and efficient communication to bring each project to its successful conclusion.
There are varying methods of dealing with sunken vessels depending on the circumstances and requirements of the client. We have lift bags of various sizes with a total lifting capacity of 18 tonne.
Flag Alpha Commercial Divers is available for construction of any kind such as concreting for wharves, jetties or pylons or removing redundant or damaged infrastructure.
We are also equipped to provide surgical dredging operations where a floating dredge cannot gain access without damage to existing infrastructure.
Underwater demolition where necessary can be made possible using oxy arc cutting equipment or hydraulic powered chain saws and grinders.
This service can be provided as an addition to the annual mooring inspection and maintenance or on demand.
Keeping your propeller, rudder and cooling intakes clean is a very important part of maintaining your vessel for optimum performance. When left unattended, hard growth leads to impeded movement of props and rudders creating vibration, overheating and increased fuel costs.
Anodes should also be inspected at regular intervals not only to keep an eye on waste levels but to ensure they are actively working. Anodes that haven’t been working can be an indication of other invisible problems.
In water under hull repairs whilst not ideal are not always able to be avoided. Some of these services may require removal or replacement of propellers, repair to rudders or sealing hull damage until your vessel can be removed from the water for maintenance in a marina or slipway.
